💻 Role

• Engineering Manager (Whatnot Inc.; Culver City, CA): Develop the algorithms and infrastructure to prevent financial abuse, detect refund and referral abuse, and establish user identity. Write production code in Python. Lead multiple initiatives across several product areas. Communicate findings with leadership and product teams. Build, mentor, performance manage and guide the execution of teams in a high-growth environment. Supervise Machine Learning Scientist and Software Engineers. Telecommuting from anywhere within the U.S. is permitted.

• Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the position offered, as a Data Scientist, Software Engineer, or a related occupation.

• Must have experience with the following: building, mentoring, performance managing, and guiding the execution of teams in a high-growth environment; developing software for consumer-scale loads; writing production code in Python; leading multiple initiatives across several product areas and effectively communicate findings to leadership and cross-functional teams; data science or machine-learning; committing code; and writing Requests for Comments (RFC)

Salary: $245,000 – $335,000 per year
