This high grade Carson City (CC) Morgan has seen significant cleaning to the obverse, lowering value significantly. Fortunately, the reverse was spared and only has limited scratches by the right wing of the Eagle. The grade appears to be AU55 or AU58 details. A straight graded 1890-CC in AU55 greysheets at $430 ($575 retail, $430 wholesale) and a PCGS straight grade recently sold on Ebay for $660 An AU58 straight grade greysheets at $505 ($725 retail, $545 wholesale). This cleaning does significantly lower the value of this coin, but the intact reverse is the more important factor of a Carson City.
