Pedestal base + finial lid is classic for candy dishes or apothecary-style containers. The black exterior with pink interior is very reminiscent of mid-century decorative elements. Please note the slip glaze along the inside edge. This is not a chip but a flaw in the manufacturing process. This is probably a hobbyist piece. Signed McK.
