Each coin in the Series replicates historic coin designs onto .999 copper rounds. This stunning round is inspired by the US Mint’s silver Trade Dollar coin, which was created by the Mint’s chief engraver William Barber in 1873. Trade Dollars were originally produced for circulation in China in order to compete with large silver coins that were popular in East Asia at the time.
