The zipper still opens and closes all the way with ease. There are no rips or tears in it or smells either. There are two spots that have markings, though. One is on the inside: there's a little brown mark in one of the seams of the bedding. The other is on the outside: the black spotting on the front. I'm not quite sure what either of them are, but they’re not actually really all the visible unless you're looking for it.
