Impressed with his resolve Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci) recruits him for an experimental programme which successfully transforms him into the super-soldier Captain America. Meanwhile high-ranking Nazi and Hydra leader Johann Schmidt (Hugo Weaving) seeks to harness the powers of a mysterious artefact called the Tesseract to eliminate all those who oppose him. Rogers teams up with his best friend Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and leads his new unit in the fight against Schmidt but he proves to be a formidable foe. The cast also includes Tommy Lee Jones Hayley Atwell and Toby Jones.
