The 1968 United States Proof Set is a landmark in American numismatics, noted as the first proof set struck at the San Francisco Mint and the first to bear the "S" mint mark. It contains five coins in high-quality mirror finishes: a Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Washington quarter, and 40% silver Kennedy half-dollar.
