Peter Shepherd was a prominent mid-20th-century British milliner (hat designer) who operated an exclusive, high-end hat workroom hosted inside Woollands of Knightsbridge, a legendary London department store.Active primarily during the 1960s, his creations are highly celebrated today by fashion historians and vintage collectors for their architectural shapes, high-quality materials, and distinct mid-century glamour. Due to their historical significance to British fashion, original pieces designed by Peter Shepherd for Woollands are preserved in major museum archives, including the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London.
