Hydrogrossular Garnet is formed through Metasomatic alteration of Calcium rich rocks in the presence of Water rich fluids. The green is caused by Chromium. Green Quartzite is formed when Quartz rich Sandstone undergoes Tectonic heat and pressure. It's green colour comes from impurities of Chromium bearing Micas.
