Samuel Wilders, a farmer, is lured to Montana by the promise of ranching. Upon arrival, he leaves his wife and children under a solitary cottonwood tree while attempting to secure a horse and never returns. Thankfully, a Cree Indian named Runs Toward rescues the little family.
