Large vintage ceramic pitcher vase featuring a brilliant turquoise-blue glaze with navy, olive-green and ochre-gold speckled and drip accents. The interior is finished in a contrasting creamy white glaze. The pitcher has a tall tapered body, pronounced pouring spout and decorative double-curved handle. The underside has a hand-incised Christmas gift dedication that appears to read approximately: “To Rita + Larry … Xmas … Dianna ’74 + Bob.” The inscription dates the piece to 1974 and adds a charming piece of personal history. It is a dedication rather than an identifiable maker’s signature. The exact artist and manufacturer are unknown. This appears to be a hand-decorated molded or hobby-studio ceramic piece rather than commercially marked pottery. Approximately 10 inches tall.
