Porzellanfabrik Wehinger & Co. miniature Czecho-Slovakia post Great-War stamping, 1919-20 dated. A beautiful lady carrying a century of lusture and rarity within here. This miniature was born into the redistributed Europe after the largest and most brutal War the Western World had ever known. A new Country and a new economy of new artisans and export into blossoming renewed markets repairing themselves after mourning for so long. Unknowing of the depressions and devastation to come in short time this was going to be a shining time of spring. You are given the chance here to hold something reflective of that hope here and see it in unblemished condition as not many examples still are. We offer her to your home as a new friend. Size: 3 1/2" H x 3 1/4 Spout to Handle. Hand Painted. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Below is taken from a history we found; **Credit.... https://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com A bit of history on the maker here: "Porzellanfabrik Wehinger & Co. (1905 until 1921) It only took until 1905 before Heinrich Wehinger took over the whole factory, greatly investing in modernization and expansion which allowed the factory to grow. Two years later the factory already employed 150 workers and the product range included a few lines of hard porcelain tableware, delicate coffee and tea sets, miniatures and vases while the soft paste porcelain products included coffee pots and cups. Wehinger at the same time also owned a factory for fireclay bricks in the small town of Janessen (Czech 'Jenišov') which he sold to Rudolf Wagner in the year 1912 and by the year 1913 the number of employees of the Horn factory had increased to 230. Main markets at that time were the USA, Great Britain, Canada and the Netherlands, something that did not greatly change during World War I (even if actual transport sometimes proved challenging). Further growth was predicted for the end of the war and in 1918 Wehinger re-purchased the factory in Janessen, transforming it into a secondary porcelain factory which started operation in 1920. At that time both factories together employed 350 workers." This particular stamping dates this piece between 1919, and early 1920.
