Spider‑Man tracks down Nose Norton for information on the Hobgoblin, but Norton knows nothing and secretly hides a mysterious case he plans to sell. Peter later joins Aunt May and Anna Watson for dinner, where Mary Jane unexpectedly arrives, leaving Peter confused by May’s comments about what he and MJ have in common. Spider‑Man follows Norton via spider‑tracer to a warehouse and watches him sell the item to a gang. Spidey’s cover is blown, and while fighting the thugs, Frog‑Man suddenly shows up and accidentally helps them escape. Spidey warns the rookie hero to practice before going out again. After developing photos at the Bugle, Spider‑Man learns the gang plans to hit an armored car. He intercepts the heist and follows them to a garage, where their leader reveals himself as Thunderball. Armed with the Wrecker’s enchanted crowbar and his wrecking ball, Thunderball declares he’s unstoppable.
