Vintage February 1973 11th printing of the Scholastic softcover mystery edition of Mystery of the Haunted Hut. Written by popular children's fiction writer Mary Graham Bonner Etsy and delightfully enhanced with atmospheric illustrations by Norman Baer. Originally copyrighted in 1950 by Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., this book features Scholastic catalog number TX 167 stamped right on the artwork. The winter-themed front cover has a vibrant red header panel and a striking mid-century illustration showing two brave kids in winter parkas walking toward a snow-capped wood cabin in a frozen evergreen forest. The spine and cover edges look incredibly square and unbent, and the staple binding remains completely tight and secure. The light blue back cover details a wonderfully spooky teaser: "It's blood! Blood on the snow!" And right outside the shack that's supposed to be deserted... A marvelous choice for vintage horror, ghost story, or retro school book collector streams!
