A Heritage Press illustrated edition of George Eliot’s The Mill on the Floss, featuring an introduction by David Daiches and full-color illustrations by Wray Manning. Heritage Press editions were produced as the trade counterpart to the famed Limited Editions Club, known for quality bindings, illustration programs, and thick, deckle-edged paper. This copy retains its original “Sandglass” bulletin (issue VI:29) the collectible companion booklet the Heritage Club mailed with each edition, discussing the book’s history and Eliot’s biography a nice bonus for collectors, as these inserts are frequently lost over time. A bookplate and 1964 ownership inscription are present on the front endpapers.
