What it's about: Deputy Sheriff David Wolf, an ex-Special Forces soldier living in the fictional Colorado ski town of Rocky Points, is in the running for sheriff and dealing with a missing-person case and his addict ex-wife when he learns his brother has died in northern Italy, officially ruled a suicide. Convinced the death was actually murder, Wolf flies to Lecco, on the shores of Lake Como, and — with the help of a Carabinieri officer — investigates what really happened to his brother, uncovering a deadly secret among the cobblestone streets of the region. The novel was originally published in 2012 (reissued in paperback in 2014 and again in 2023).
