used The Last Shot is a 2004 action-comedy film about an aspiring filmmaker who unknowingly has his movie produced by an undercover FBI agent running a mob sting operation. • FBI agent Joe Devine (Alec Baldwin) poses as a Hollywood producer named Joe Diamond to trap mobster Tommy Sanz (Tony Shalhoub) in a Teamster racketeering scheme. • The Ruse: Devine uses a script written by down-on-his-luck movie theater manager Steven Schats (Matthew Broderick), hiring Steven to direct the film. • The Catch: While the FBI plans to use the bogus production as bait, Steven and the rest of the cast and crew genuinely believe they are finally making a real movie. • True Story: The film is loosely inspired by a real-life FBI operation code-named Dramex. Starring: Matthew Broderick (Steven Schats), Alec Baldwin (Joe Devine), Toni Collette (Emily French), Tony Shalhoub (Tommy Sanz), and Calista Flockhart (Valerie Weston).
