Beautiful vintage Chinese hand mirror featuring a hand-painted portrait of a traditional Chinese woman on a rich green background. The portrait is surrounded by an ornate gold-tone metal frame with detailed decorative work, with the mirror on the reverse. The pale celadon green handle appears to be natural stone and was tested with a Presidium Gem Tester II, registering in the jadeite/spinel range. Based on its appearance and test results, the handle is believed to be jade; however, it has not been professionally gemologically authenticated. The stone has natural-looking color variation and dark inclusions/markings, particularly near the lower portion of the handle.
