Apophylite is a group of hydrous phyllosilicate minerals known for their glassy luster, pyramid or tabular crystal shapes, and tendency to flake apart when heated. Environment: Forms in cavities of basalt and other volcanic or igneous rocks, frequently alongside zeolite minerals like stilbite.
