Pictured is a signed sterling silver brooch / pendant with foil-backed art glass cabochon. • Maker: Joy • Marked: Hecho En Plata 925 • Origin: Taxco, Mexico • Metal: Sterling Silver • Overall Size: 2" x 1 1/2" • Glass Cabochon: approx. 1" x 1/2" • Closure: Secure rollover clasp • Pendant Bail: Fixed bail The oval cabochon is foil-backed glass, often referred to as "foil opal glass," exhibiting metallic iridescence in gold, red, teal, and orange tones with internal crackle patterning. The ornate openwork filigree frame is consistent with early to mid-20th century Taxco silver production. Natural patina present in recesses. Signed Joy Mexico, Hecho En Plata 925. Pre-owned vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age. No damage to glass noted.
