This vintage hand blown amethyst glass bowl from Blanco Glass company of Milton, West Virginia, is in near mint condition; complete with manufacturer signature label. Silver foil sticker indicates the piece is from their 1930's through 1980's era. The bowl is a typical Blenko style; thick, dense and monochromatic. The textured exterior finish gives the bowl an intentional natural look and the scalloped edge adds a charming flair. The handmade texture technique also creates a ripple or crease near the base (see photo). It's not a crack, but an indentation in the glass; they do this on purpose during manufacturing, creating a uniqueness to the piece. Double hash on bottom may be a staff artist's mark. No cracks, chips, or damage of any kind, from smoke free, pet free home's china cabinet. Large bowl measures 10.5" diameter and 5"high.
