Product Details

A rare and impressive Antique Blue Onion (Zwiebelmuster) porcelain and brass samovar, standing approx. 19.75” tall and weighing over 10 lbs. The hand-painted Blue Onion motif—originating in 18th-century Meissen and adopted by German and Czech makers—features stylized pomegranates, bamboo leaves, and florals in deep cobalt on crisp white porcelain. The porcelain reservoir rests on a heavy brass footed heater with claw feet, original curved brass spigot, and wooden handle. The form dates to the late 19th–early 20th century, traditionally used for dispensing hot tea, cider, or mulled wine. Excellent display presence with authentic age patina to the brass and expected crazing to the glaze. A rare large-format Blue Onion samovar—perfect for Delft, Meissen-style, European kitchen, and Victorian décor collectors.
