Product Details

From my personal collection there’s two comps available one at $400 and one at $500, as of posting this. This antique pitcher appears to be a notable example of late 19th-century English ceramics from Dunn Bennett & Co, based in Burslem, Staffordshire. Product Identification The pitcher is crafted in "Imperial Semi China," a type of durable earthenware often produced during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. It features several distinctive characteristics typical of high-end transferware from this period: Pattern: It displays a vibrant blue floral transferware design, often referred to as "Flow Blue" due to the intentional blurring of the cobalt blue pattern during firing. Specific patterns from this maker that resemble this piece include "Primula", "Daisy", and "Florence". Design Details: The pitcher has a prominent scalloped rim and a decorative scroll handle, both heavily embellished with gold gilt or sponge-gold trim.
