Product Details

For sale is an exceptionally rare, authentic circa 1840 historical Staffordshire transferware pitcher (creamer), manufactured in England for the American export market. This museum-quality piece features an early Victorian octagonal (eight-sided) paneled body and a stylized geometric handle. Unlike standard wares with repeating images, this rare variant features FIVE distinct United States State Seals alongside supporting historical maritime and pioneer scenes. ***CONDITION REPORT** Glaze: Beautiful, authentic, fine age-crazing with natural light amber tinting consistent with a 180+ year old piece. Body: Structurally sound with bright, crisp transfer decals. No structural cracks or restorations. Base/Rim: Features a small, shallow 1/4-inch glaze flake/chip on the bottom exterior base rim (clearly documented in photos). It is stable, out of sight when displayed upright, and does not impact integrity. Markings: Unglazed bottom features a hand-incised workbench mold number "7"
