Vintage W.T. Armstrong Co. concert flute, serial number 23441, dating to approximately the early 1950s. This is an appealing early Armstrong example with matching-number components and its period fitted case. The main body and footjoint are both stamped 23441, while the headjoint is stamped 41, indicating the major sections are factory matched and appear original to the instrument. Flute shows substantial age-related tarnish, oxidation, plating wear, spotting, and general surface wear throughout. Pads and mechanical condition have not been professionally evaluated, and the flute is being sold as found and unserviced. It should be assumed that cleaning, adjustment, and/or repadding may be needed before regular play. Includes the original-style black fitted case with red velvet interior and cleaning rod. Case has noticeable age and wear, including edge and interior deterioration. A great piece for a vintage instrument collector, Armstrong enthusiast, restoration project, or display.
