*Extremely* scarce antique rimmed soup plate by Machin & Potts (M&P), featuring the "Cavendish" pattern—an exquisite Chinoiserie pastoral landscape with a stone pillar monument, delicate weeping foliage, and a majestic peacock perched gracefully near the edge of a body of water. The swag features a repeating garden trellis motif interspersed with large, stylized exotic blossoms, delicate scrolling vines, and miniature pagoda vignettes. Maker: M&P (Machin & Potts) who had a very brief operational window from 1833-1838 in Burslem, England which is why this pattern is incredibly difficult to find.
