Unusual Art Deco Green Vaseline Glass Bowl, dated to 1920s European manufacture by style of design. unidentified maker. Footed Clear Glass Bowl (Widely Affixed Bowl Design). "Tiffin Styled" for reference ONLY Vaseline/Uranium Glass Low Footed Bowl/Compote Dish. Here is an extremely unusual bowl with an Art Deco style and rim decoration produced in what we believe to be silver plate. The bowl itself is clear forest green Uranium Glass. The rim is a wide silver plate attached band with embossed design on the inside rim, highlighted by silver paint on the outside of rim and base edge. Due to sheer age and use, there is some small loss of the paint in outside edge silver paint which can be restored extremely easily, but there are no cracks or chips anywhere on the piece. It is in Excellent condition! The bowl itself proves itself rare by its design and construction. We have never seen anything near its design, but for a single art glass painted exception. It is unusual and rare in its form and construct even in the 1920s and 1930s Art Deco era as the foot directly flows into the bowl with no stem or wafer. There ARE examples to be found by Moser and others in Europe, but VERY few and NONE we can find in clear green Uranium! This a GREAT PRIZE for a collector at a reasonable price!
