They’re clearly raw, natural, untreated—exactly what I was hoping for. You will need to blow them out, clean them well, and boil them before use, but that’s part of working with real, natural materials. If that’s not your thing, you might be better off buying pre-cleaned pieces—but honestly, that takes half the fun out of it.
