The Decima Flottiglia MAS (Xª MAS - 10th Assault Vehicle Flotilla) was an elite Italian naval commando unit during World War II, renowned for its daring, innovative underwater sabotage operations against Allied shipping, primarily the British Royal Navy in the Mediterranean. Known for their "human torpedoes" (SLCs) and Gamma frogmen, the unit was instrumental in developing techniques still used by special forces today. The unit’s operations were tightly linked with Panerai watches (specifically Radiomir and later Luminor), which were essential navigational and timing instruments developed specifically to meet the harsh demands of the Italian Royal Navy (Militare Marina) These watches are personal and defined by years of my journey into horology.
