Themis, 1969 draws inspiration from a legendary moment in time and a place unlike any other — Themis Boutique on Los Angeles’ iconic La Cienega Boulevard. In the winter of 1968–1969, Jim Morrison of The Doors helped bring the boutique to life for his muse and partner, Pamela Courson. Together, Pam and Jim chose the name Themis, honoring the ancient Greek goddess associated with harmony, wisdom, and divine balance. More than simply a boutique, Themis became an intimate retreat for the creative spirits and trendsetters of late-1960s Los Angeles.
