The Monogram Multicolore collection was the brainchild of Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami and former Louis Vuitton Creative Director Marc Jacobs. Launched in 2003, Murakami reimagined the house’s classic, somber brown monogram into a "Superflat" pop-art masterpiece. He replaced the traditional palette with 33 vibrant colors set against a crisp white (Blanc) or deep black (Noir) background.
