Native American carved chert fish hook, prehistoric period, North America. Finely shaped from translucent white chert into a curved hook form with a defined point and worked edges, showing skilled knapping and shaping techniques. Such hooks were used in traditional fishing practices and reflect both functional ingenuity and craftsmanship. The surface shows smoothing from age and use, along with minor edge chipping and natural inclusions consistent with antiquity. A scarce and visually striking example of early fishing technology. Size: 1” Condition: Surface wear and minor chipping consistent with age; intact overall. Provenance: Ex Private Taos, New Mexico collection; Ex Edwin Thomas collection, Fort Worth, Texas.
