🧾 Civil War Era Fractional Currency Wallet 🇺🇸 (1860s–1870s) Step back into the days of “shinplasters” with this original fractional currency wallet, designed specifically to carry the small denomination notes issued during the Civil War era. These wallets were a practical solution when coin shortages forced everyday Americans to rely on paper fractions. Crafted from leather with a classic fold-over strap closure, this example shows honest period wear—heavy surface patina, creasing, and use consistent with age. Interior compartments remain intact, ready to hold notes just like they did 150+ years ago. 💼 Authentic 19th-century form & function 📜 Made for fractional currency (3¢, 5¢, 10¢, etc.) 🕰️ Great companion piece for any currency collection A fantastic display item alongside your fractionals—or a rare chance to own a true piece of everyday Civil War history.
