It develops during regional metamorphism where clay-rich sediments are transformed by heat and pressure. Its color is typically blue due to trace amounts of iron and titanium within the crystal structure. These specimens usually display elongated, blade-like crystals with a fibrous or striated texture, often mounted on a metal stand to highlight the natural formation.
