1966 Roosevelt Dime — PCGS SP66 SMS — Special Mint Set Issue Up for auction is the exact coin shown: a 1966 Roosevelt dime, certified PCGS SP66 SMS. This is a Special Mint Set dime from the 1965–1967 period, when the U.S. Mint did not issue standard proof sets. SMS coins were specially prepared with sharper detail and a more refined finish than normal circulation strikes, making them popular with type collectors and Roosevelt dime collectors.
