Beautiful Vintage Russ Berrie & Co. brass grazing horse figurine pair featuring a graceful mother mare and matching foal / colt, both captured with their heads lowered in peaceful feeding poses. The coordinated pair features wonderfully sculpted equestrian forms with sleek bodies, flowing molded manes and tails, slender legs and detailed facial features. Their matching grazing poses make them especially attractive displayed together as a mother-and-young horse set. The larger mare retains its original vintage gold foil Russ Berrie & Co., Inc. – Oakland, N.J. – Made in Korea label. Comparable labeled Russ Berrie brass mare and foal figures are documented from approximately the 1970s–1980s period. The brass has been left unpolished, preserving its warm golden finish and rich natural patina. Areas of darker coloration, oxidation and age-related surface variation give the pair wonderful vintage character and emphasize the sculptural details. Perfect for collectors of Russ Berrie, Vintage brass, Korean brass, brass horses, mare and foal figurines, equestrian decor, horse decor, MCM, Mid-Century Modern, Rustic, Farmhouse, Western and country decor.
