Call out on tiny flowers top of piano difficult to see but you can feel them. solid, single-piece porcelain grand piano figurine it functions as a decorative miniature or a dollhouse display piece. underside reveals that the figurine is completely hollowed out from the bottom. The circular opening visible in the piano leg is a slip-casting vent hole. During production, liquid clay (slip) was poured into a plaster mold; as the clay dried against the walls, the excess liquid was poured back out through these holes. This step prevented air bubbles from expanding and exploding the delicate porcelain inside the high-temperature kiln. The Red Backstamp is a classic red ink stamp stating "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN" formatted in a stacked box configuration. This style of stamp was very common among export factories in the late 1940s
