Wonderful antique brass writing desk set featuring two heavy cut-glass inkwells with hinged brass lids, a built-in nib cleaning brush, letter or paper holder, and perpetual calendar. The pierced brass backplate features decorative floral cutwork, while the square glass inkwells have beautifully faceted sides. The original calendar cards are still present. One glass inkwell has substantial damage/loss to one side of the exterior glass, as shown, but the interior ink reservoir remains intact and holds liquid. Brass has naturally aged patina and wear throughout. No maker's mark found. Similar desk sets date to the early 20th century. Measures approximately 7" W × 4" D × 6.5" H.
