Détails du produit

Vintage Haleakala Dairy POG milk cap from Kahului, Maui, Hawaii, which inspired the popular 1990s collectible game POGs. The Game: In the early 1990s, a teacher named Blossom Galbiso in Hawaii used the dairy's cardboard bottle caps to teach math games and play a traditional game similar to Japanese Menko. The Craze: Schoolchildren began collecting the caps, naming both the pieces and the game "POGs," which quickly grew into a massive global pastime. Historical Significance: This specific cap represents the origin of the 1990s "POG" playground craze. Haleakala Dairy used these cardboard discs to seal their Passion-Orange-Guava (P.O.G.) juice bottles. In 1991, an Oahu schoolteacher introduced her students to a traditional game using these exact caps, triggering a global marketing phenomenon.
