Austin Watkins is a single father sitting in Cook County Jail, worried sick about his six-year-old daughter, Myyah. His biggest problem isn’t just being behind bars—it’s knowing that his daughter is stuck living with her mother, Fredquisha, whose chaotic lifestyle and neglect are putting Myyah in danger. Determined to protect her granddaughter, Austin’s mother, Delores, steps in and begins fighting to get Myyah out of an increasingly toxic home. But navigating the child welfare system is anything but easy, and with Austin unable to do much from jail, Delores realizes she may have to take matters into her own hands.
