DEATH NYC — Beatles Abbey Road Contemporary Art Set Abstract Sky + Starry Night / Video Game Variation | Signed | 18 x 13 in A bold matched pair of limited-edition works by DEATH NYC, both built around one of the most recognizable images in music history: the Beatles crossing Abbey Road. In each piece, the four figures are reinterpreted in patterned designer-inspired suits, carrying bright spray cans and moving through dramatically altered environments. The first work places the figures against a sweeping, painterly field of red, cobalt blue, orange, and yellow, evoking the emotional movement and swirling energy of expressionist and post-impressionist painting. The result is vivid, kinetic, and highly decorative, while still retaining the visual structure of the Abbey Road composition. The second piece moves into a much more surreal pop-cultural environment, combining a Starry Night-inspired sky with recognizable video-game visual language, oversized plants, pipes, question-block imagery, and fantastical color. The traditional street crossing remains underneath, but the surrounding world becomes playful, chaotic, and dreamlike. Together, the two prints create a strong contrast between: fine-art abstraction and pop-culture fantasy. The repetition of the Beatles figures ties the pair together, while the dramatically different backgrounds make them feel like alternate realities built around the same cultural icon.
