Gauntlet Gallery · Authenticated Street Pop Art Shepard Fairey — ;Marilyn Sunset; · 2026 Signed numbered, edition of 500 Hand-SignedLimited EditionShips Rolled Insured The Work Marilyn Sunset is the twilight companion to Fairey's Marilyn Sunrise, presenting the same iconic likeness under a cooler, dusk-toned palette. Marilyn Monroe emerges from the OBEY vocabulary of sunburst rays, ornamental borders, and layered halftone shading, but where the Sunrise burns warm and golden, the Sunset settles into a more contemplative, elegiac mood, fame's brilliance fading toward evening. The pairing is characteristic of Fairey's serial thinking. By presenting a single subject at two times of day, he underscores the arc of celebrity itself, its rise and its inevitable decline, and the way a manufactured image outlives the person it depicts. Marilyn becomes an emblem of both eternal glamour and the melancholy of icons frozen forever at their peak. Printed on cream Speckletone paper with Fairey's meticulous registration, this impression carries the tactile, hand-pulled quality that distinguishes his editioned prints. Hand-signed and numbered in pencil, from an edition of 500.
