Carnival glass, also known as iridescent glass, was popular in the early 20th century, particularly from around 1907 to 1925. It was produced by many American companies, including Fenton, Imperial, and Northwood, as a more affordable alternative to cut glass. The distinctive shimmer is achieved by spraying metallic salts onto the molten glass, which then oxidizes in the annealing process, creating a rainbow-like iridescence. Fenton Art Glass Company, founded in 1905, was a major producer of carnival glass, known for its quality and innovative designs. The 'swung' vase, characterized by its tall, slender form and often ruffled or flared top, was a popular style. These vases were typically made by gathering molten glass, shaping it, and then 'swinging' it to create the elongated form before the final finishing touches. Circa 1910-1925

My name is Andrea. I have a deep admiration for all things that bling, shine, drip and really make an eye catching statement. I love all vintage, antique, mcm, art deco, art nouveau, Victorian/Edwardian and timeless pieces. I especially LOVE art glass. Glowing/UV reactive glass such as vaseline, depression uranium, cadmium and selenium. Not to mention I adore gothic romantic styles, dark and moody, antique lamps either tabletop or parlor. Let’s not get started with antique furniture! They just don’t make things like they used to! I have a passion for curating collectables into stunning displays. I also love weird, strange and unusual things that are rare and unique. I hope you enjoy my lovely finds as much as I do!
