Vintage sterling silver “Lost Weekend” mechanical coffin charm featuring a hinged lid that opens to reveal a fully cast 3D skeleton. Both the coffin and the skeleton acid test as sterling. Weighs 2.4g, which is heavier than many versions and indicative of a quality mid-century casting. The skeleton lifts out slightly as the coffin opens—classic 1960s–1970s novelty charm design. “LOST WEEK-END” is clearly stamped on the exterior, and the interior shows only a small casting letter (“r”). Hinge works smoothly and the piece has an excellent aged patina. A great find for collectors of vintage mechanical charms, gothic jewelry, or sterling charm bracelets.
