1970s Vintage Play-Me 994 Die-Cast Sharpener. Made in Spain. This particular sharpener is modelled after early 1900s candlestick phones, typically featuring a bronze-colored finish and a rotary dial. I have not tested it to see if it is fully functional. The original die-cast pencil sharpeners were produced in Spain during the 1970's. These sharpeners are incredibly detailed and often have many moving parts. In the early 1980’s the company closed. I do my best to describe and photograph any faults but please keep in mind that I have thousands of items to sort through and are only human so I may miss some things.
