Nine years later Bond is sent to investigate when a Soviet-era satellite armed with a powerful weapon codenamed GoldenEye destroys a radar site in Siberia. He is soon embroiled in a dangerous mission involving betrayal revenge and a plot to trigger a global financial crisis and societal collapse. As he fights to save the world he is pursued by relentless assassin Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) and comes face to face with Trevelyan who is now his enemy.
