Charlie Scott, born December 15, 1948, is a retired American basketball player known for his standout career at the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics. He achieved All-American status in college, won gold with the U.S. Olympic team in 1968, and became the first black scholarship athlete at UNC in 1970. Inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
