This item is a Macbeth-Evans American Sweetheart sugar bowl and creamer set. It is crafted from a unique, translucent opalescent glassware style known as "Monax" glass, which was manufactured by the Macbeth-Evans Glass Company between 1930 and 1936. "American Sweetheart" is a highly collectible Depression-era glass pattern featuring an intricate, mold-etched design of delicate lacy swirls and floral scrollwork. While frequently mistaken for traditional white milk glass, Monax is distinctly thinner, more sheer, and semi-translucent. It exhibits a characteristic glowing blue or iridescent pink tint around the edges when held up to direct light. The set includes a double-handled open sugar bowl and a single-handled footed creamer pitcher
