The work covers McKinley’s childhood, military service, legal and political career, governorship, presidency, assassination, death, funeral ceremonies, and national mourning. It also discusses anarchism and the life of his assassin. The title page bears a handwritten English inscription signed Murat Halstead and dated October 9, 1901, referring to the writing of the book following McKinley’s assassination. The inscription appears to be from the author, but it has not been professionally authenticated.
