This vintage Du Pont Sporting Rifle Powder No. 80 tin is an excellent piece of early 20th-century militaria and sporting advertising. The 8-ounce metal canister features its original green painted finish along with its paper labels. The front displays a bold red white and blue eagle crest and the classic Du Pont oval logo. The reverse label provides detailed instructions for "bulk smokeless powder for use in low power rifles with lead or metal-cased bullets" alongside its original stamped lot number 260. Manufactured by E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., Inc. of Wilmington, Delaware, this empty tin retains its original metal screw cap and partial paper seal on top. It exhibits a great natural patina with light edge wear, paper chipping, and minor surface rust on the metal top and bottom, making it a stellar display piece for collectors of vintage ammunition, gunpowder tins, or hunting memorabilia.
